Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot "There’s so much that goes into this excellent Chardonnay from the famous Rising Vineyard in the Yarra Valley. It’s a combination of fruit from five sites, different clones and a range of slopes. It has a beautiful mineral purity, that initially shows on the nose with a subtle underlay of creamy stone fruit and lemon curd. It’s quite a delicate wine yet there is excellent fruit concentration supported by a chalky limestone acidity which contributes to that focused long finish."

Nick Butler, The Real Review "Rich yellow colour and looking advanced. Ripe lemons, rind and pith - a nutty and savoury oak aroma. There's some impressive fruit-weight to it. The acidity on the finish is out of tune with the wine. That noted, it's sure to offer plenty when consumed with food." (2018 vintage)

Toni Paterson, The Real Review "Creamy and rich with clotted cream and fresh peach aromas. The palate is deliciously rich and more-ish with excellent flavour intensity and balance. I enjoy the racy lemon and grapefruit notes on the finish. It will evolve with time in bottle" (2017 vintage)

Huon Hooke, The Real Review "Light, bright yellow hue, with a subtle, discreet aroma and flavour recalling lime and grapefruit. The wine is very delicate and restrained, but clean and crisp, dry and refined with good length, balance and drinkability. A very fine, fruit-driven chardonnay." (2017 vintage)

Winemaker "Vibrant pale straw in colour, with a nose of lemon oil, lavendar, wet rock minerality, and a sprikle of clove spice. The palate shows additional flavours of orange peel and BBQ’d lime. It is richly textured which speaks to the intensity of fruit in 2022, as well as having phenomenal acid drive and good structure."

Alcohol: 13%

Rising Vineyard is nestled in a valley on the outskirts of the beautiful township of St Andrews - set among unspoilt bushland and rolling hills in the Nillumbik Shire. This subregion is like no other. Nillumbik is derived from the Wurundjeri term for the area nyilumbik, which literally translates to dumb or bad earth, and our terroir is unique to the rest of the Yarra Valley.

At 245m above sea level at its highest elevation, the vineyard gently rises and reaches out of the valley on its east, west, north and south-facing slopes. Here the region’s stars, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, prevail. Small parcels of Shiraz, Semillon, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Savagnin and Sauvignon Blanc persist from original plantings in 1984.
