Halliday Wine Companion “Includes 5% cabernet sauvignon and 2% viognier. Vibrant crimson-purple, it has a fragrant, fruit-filled bouquet leading into an intensely flavoured, red and black-fruited medium-bodied palate. Complexity grows each time you come back to the wine."
Decanter World Wine Awards “.....The wine is full bodied and quite powerful, with emphatic tannins and lots of grunt. A typical Pyrenees Shiraz, the aftertaste long and resonating with warmth of alcohol.....Very deep, dark red colour with purple and black tinges. The bouquet is earthy and savoury with some development over dark chocolate, licorice and spice aromas. A hint of ironstone. (5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Viognier).”
Huon Hooke “...lovely big rich Christmas cake-like varietal fruit. Beautiful aromas lift off the nose and it is soft and generous in the mouth with velvety tannins.”
James Halliday “Vibrant crimson-purple, it has a fragrant, fruit-filled bouquet leading into an intensely flavoured, red and black-fruited medium-bodied palate. Complexity grows each time you come back to the wine. Drink to 2034. Includes 5% cabernet sauvignon and 2% viognier.”
Gourmet Traveller Wine, Mar/Apr 2017 “Concentrated ripe fruit nose with a minty aromatic lift. Polished and supple on the palate with a mid-weight, spicy palate.”
Winestate Magazine "Glenlofty’s vineyards have been carefully nurtured since 1995 in the cool-climate foothills of Victoria’s Pyrenees. Formerly blended into premium wines produced by Penfolds, Seppelts, Rosemount and Brown Bros, Glenlofty’s remarkable fruit has been bottled under its own Glenlofty Wines label only since 2013. Early industry applause has been rapid, as demonstrated by its awards."
The vineyards of Glenlofty lie at 340 metres above sea level in the heart of the Victorian Pyrenees and total 110 hectares. Glenlofty grow a diverse range of low yielding grapes, including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Nebbiolo.
